TNC Predator Make eyyou Signing Official

TNC Predator have officially signed support Dota 2 player Nico ‘eyyou‘ Barcelon after bringing him over as a stand-in earlier this year.

The Philippine-based Dota 2 team made the announcement via Facebook earlier on Wednesday, March 21.

eyyou was initially brought in as a stand-in following TNC Predator’s decision to drop team captain, Michael ‘ninjaboogie‘ Ross Jr., after the team failed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 11 and the Starladder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.

A former member of TNC Predator, who was part of the team’s lineup when they pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Dota 2 history against OG at The International 2016, eyyou immediately made his impact felt on the team. After rejoining his former team, eyyou would help lead the team to wins to multiple LANs. This includes huge wins at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2019 and WESG 2018.

TNC Predator will also give the make eyyou the team captain. Previously, Carlo ‘Kuku‘ Palad had served as the team’s captain from the offlane position.

Can Eyyou Help TNC Predator Get Back in Shape?

This year has played out quite differently for the perennial dark horses.

For some reason, TNC Predator’s latest lineup just hasn’t gelled quite as well as in previous years. Missing were the aggressive plays where they’d take fights despite being one man short and walk away with a won teamfight. Perhaps the loss of mainstays such as Samson Solomon Enojosa ‘Sam_H‘ Hidalgo and Marc Polo Luis ‘Raven‘ Fausto forced the team to adapt a new playstyle. As a result, teams such as BOOM ID have emerged as legitimate contenders in Southeast Asia, while Fnatic continue to hold an uncontested stranglehold over the region.

Here’s to hoping the acquisition of eyyou can help change all of that.

eyyou has already proven time and time again before that he is a strong captain that can lead his team to wins. All he needs now is more time to device additional strategies to make TNC Predator more dangerous with two more Minor-Major cycles to go.

TNC Predator are currently in 11th place in the standings with 696 DPC points. They’ll need to qualify and have good showings at both the MDL Disneyland® Paris Major and the EPICENTER Major to have any hopes of receiving a direct invite to play at The International 2019 in Shanghai.

What do you think eyyou brings to the table for TNC Predator? Will his presence prove enough to help the two-time WESG champions climb up the DPC rankings? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
