TI7 Upper Bracket Day 2 Recap: Group B Reign Supreme - Esportsranks
TI7 Upper Bracket Day 2 Recap: Group B Reign Supreme

So much for earlier talks about Group A being the more stacked group of this year’s TI as all that remains in the TI7 Upper Bracket now are the top four teams from Group B.

LFY Sweeps TNC

Not a single team has been able to fully solve the enigma that is LFY. Although OG and Digital Chaos did manage to put a dent – both wins coming very convincingly at that – on LFY’s attempt to go undefeated during the group stages.

Still, for the most part, LFY has been unstoppable.

TNC, however, are no strangers to coming in as underdogs and they certainly didn’t look like it at the start of the series.

In Game 1, TNC pushed LFY to their absolute limits as the game went back-and-forth for a little over an hour.

In the end, however, He ‘Inflame’ Yongzheng’s Nature’s Prophet and Xie ‘Super’ Junhao’s Puck came up with one clutch play after another to help LFY secure the win.

The loss seemed to have devastated TNC Pro Team as their performance in the next game was far from their usual.

As a result, Game 2 was never really close at any point at all as LFY proceeded to drop TNC to the lower brackets via a clean sweep.

Virtus.Pro 2-0’s LGD Gaming

Virtus.Pro’s Ilya ‘Lil’ Ilyuk, who is never one to mince his words, said in an earlier interview with Julmust of Liquid Dota, that their opponent, LGD Gaming, had a very simple play style and that it won’t be very hard to play against them before adding that they will just ban Lich and win.

And win they certainly did.

While Virtus.Pro only ended up banning Lich in Game 2 of their TI7 upper bracket matchup against LGD, it didn’t really matter much.

Having seemingly regained their form after a rather shaky performance during the group stages, Virtus.Pro executed their game plan from the get-go, with their signature ruthless aggression helping them overwhelm their opponents.

As a result, LGD Gaming looked like a deer caught in the headlights, always on the defensive and even failing to crack double digits in both games.

TI7 Main Event Day 3

Day 3 will kick off with the lower brackets as OG looks to try to settle their score with TNC Pro Teamthe team responsible for eliminating them from TI6.

Meanwhile, Digital Chaos face a tall task ahead of them as they take on LGD Gaming.

Following that match, the TI7 upper bracket will start with Newbee vs Invictus Gaming, with the day ending with a rematch between Virtus Pro and LFY.

What do you think will happen in Day 3 of the TI7 main event? Will OG choke once again? Will DC pull off an upset against LGD? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
