Here’s All the Teams Who Will Play at the ESL One Birmingham Major

The Regional Qualifiers for the ESL One Birmingham Major is now finally complete and we now finally have a complete list of teams who will participate in the first ever Dota 2 Major in UK.

Already announced earlier this year were the six direct invites that will headline the ESL One Birmingham Major. To no one’s surprise, Virtus Pro, who won the two previous ESL One Majors, received a direct invite. So did Newbee, who won ESL One Genting 2018. The other four direct invites are Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, ,Mineski, and ViCi Gaming.

Completing the 12-team roster of the ESL One Birmingham Major are OG from Europe; Natus Vincere from CIS; LGD.ForeverYoung from China; Fnatic from Southeast Asia; OpTic Gaming from North America and finally, paiN Gaming from South America.

It’s Officially Do or Die Time

The ESL One Birmingham Major may not be the final Major of the season, but it is an important one. Other than Virtus.Pro, only Team Liquid and Team Secret are, as of the moment, nearly guaranteed an invite to The International 2018 in Vancouver with the amount of Qualifying Points they currently have. Even the DAC 2018 champions Mineski aren’t out of the running just yet. This means more than half of the participating teams will no doubt look at the ESL One Birmingham Major as one of their last chances to secure a direct invite to The International 2018.

Look especially to North American rivals Evil Geniuses and OpTic Gaming, as well as Fnatic to try and use the ESL One Birmingham Major to propel themselves up into the Top 8 of the season standings to avoid having to go through the Regional Qualifiers for The International 2018.

The ESL One Birmingham Major will run from May 23 to May 27. It will take place at the Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, UK and will feature a prize pool of $1 million USD and 1,500 Qualifying Points.

What do you think we should expect from the ESL One Birmingham Major? Will Team Liquid and Virtus.Pro coast and mere use this as a chance to get some intel on other teams? Will Evil Geniuses or OpTic Gaming finally win big? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
