Team Kinguin Round Out Perfect World Minor Teams

Team Kinguin are the last of the Perfect World Minor teams to qualify after completing their upset run with a 2-1 win over Hellraisers in the Grand Finals of the EU Qualifier.

Perfect World Masters EU Qualifier Recap

Without OG and Team Secret, who both chose to skip the first Dota 2 tournament in Shanghai of the season, many had expected the online qualifier to be a two-man race between Mousesports and Hellraisers.

Both teams would then meet in the Winners Bracket Finals where Hellraisers would win 2-1 in a tightly contested series, thanks mostly to their preferred picks, Clockwerk and Enigma.

Because of the double-elimination format, however, Mousesports still technically had a chance to avenge their earlier loss. All they had to do was take down the underdogs, Team Kinguin, in the lower bracket finals.

Unfortunately, the former underdogs would go on to lose the series in less than an hour as Team Kinguin proceeded to dumpster them 2-0.

Team Kinguin then completed their upset run with a 2-1 victory over Hellraisers to secure their first appearance in a Valve-sponsored event as a team. EVER.

The March of Team Kinguin

  • Natan ‘Exotic_Deer’ Michalewicz
  • Michal ‘Nisha’ Jankowski
  • Patos ‘Pawel’ Naruszewicz
  • Rafal ‘El_lisasH’ Wójcik
  • Jakub ‘kacor’ Kocjan

Made up of the former Let’s Do It stack, who have spent some time playing under the banners of ALTERNATE aTTaX and Team Singularity, the all-Polish group is one of the rare group of players who have stuck together despite achieving little success.

Hopefully, their win against Hellraisers — the very same team who gave OG a run for their money — gives them a chance for a long overdue breakthrough.

Of course, it will not come easy; they will come in as heavy underdogs compared to the other Perfect World Minor teams. In fact, according to Bet365they currently sit at 30/1 and are the team with the second lowest chance to win it all.

Team Kinguin will have more than a month to prepare as they try to upset some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world in Shanghai in November.
