After a week-long group stage, the StarSeries i-League Season 7 quarterfinals is finally set to kick off, and one of the highlight matches is the grudge match between Natus Vincere and ENCE.
These two CS:GO teams gave fans one of the best matches of the year so far in the semifinals of the IEM Katowice Major. In that particular matchup, ENCE took the win, two games to one, in a series that very nearly went to overtime twice.
This time around, the story is quite similar. Both CS:GO teams are headed into their matchup in arguably similar form. As always, Oleksandr ‘s1mple‘ Kostyliev is doing his fair share of work for Natus Vincere once again. He leads all players with a 1.44 rating across 10 maps. However, unlike earlier this year or in previous tournaments, he isn’t alone. Denis ‘electronic‘ Sharipov seems to have broken out of his slump. He is currently posting his best rating at 1.34 across 10 maps since Natus Vincere won BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2018 back in November of last year. On the other hand, none of ENCE’s players have stood out in particular. However, that’s never been the team’s strong suit anyway.
With that said, the StarSeries i-League Season 7 quarterfinals matchup between ENCE and Natus Vincere will be even more interesting in that we’ll get to see if whether individual brilliance or team play will win out in the end.
StarSeries i-League Season 7 Quarterfinals Prediction
That is a map that ENCE will look to try and get out of the map veto right away if they can. Why? Because for all of Natus Vincere’s versatility across maps and s1mple’s ability to take over games on his own, it is the map that has been their bane for a long time. In fact, ENCE are 7 out of 15 on Dust2 in LAN settings, and they’ve mostly only won against lesser competition, which easily makes Dust2 the Finish side’s worst map by far.
If they can do that, then there’s a huge possibility that ENCE will be walking away as the winners here. But, if not, then they’ll be in for quite the match.
Of course, ENCE haven’t exactly been shy of playing on Dust2, and despite their lackluster record on the map, they’re not as bad as the record states on it and they’ve played relatively well against good teams on the said map.
Ultimately, what we think is that this match will go down the wire once again.
Both CS:GO teams are in relatively good form and they’re evenly matched. Even if ENCE does end up banning Dust2 and playing Natus Vincere in other maps, we don’t think that they’re all that much better to actually sweep the CIS juggernauts, so we’ll go with something safer instead.
