StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final: Fnatic vs Natus Vincere - Esportsranks
StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final: Fnatic vs Natus Vincere

Hands up if you expected Fnatic and Natus Vincere to be the two CS:GO teams facing off in the StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final.

Most people would’ve probably half-expected Natus Vincere to make it here, but Fnatic? They couldn’t even win a tournament filled with B-tier teams at the WESG 2018 Finals, so betting on them making it all the way here, all the while dropping only just two maps, was a massive risk at best.

Yet, here they are.

As amazing as Fnatic have played to make it to the StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final have, Natus Vincere have perhaps been even better.

Long considered as a CS:GO team that could only go as far as Oleksandr ‘s1mple‘ Kostyliev could take them, the rest of Natus Vincere seems to have finally found a way to contribute while also letting s1mple shine. Case in point, s1mple currently leads all players in the tournament with a stellar 1.47 rating across 16 maps. However, the team’s IGL, Danylo ‘Zeus‘ Teslenko is also enjoying his best performance since the team’s win at the BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2018. So far, he has posted a 0.99 average rating and is contributing more to his team’s cause than he’s had in a while.

With Denis ‘electronic‘ Sharipov posting up MVP-worthy numbers himself, the matchup between Fnatic and Natus Vincere in the StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final should be fun, to say the least.

StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final Prediction

StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final

Fnatic will need to win both of their map picks and grind it out in the decider to have any shot at going home with a trophy in hand. (StarLadder CS:GO)

As this is a best-of-five series, it’ll be easier to predict how the map veto will turn out.

Most likely, we’ll see the first two bans being Train by Fnatic and Cache by Natus Vincere. It is possible that Natus Vincere will ban Nuke instead, but don’t count on it. They haven’t played Cache in a long time and they probably won’t start doing it now that Fnatic also favours Cache as well.

As for map picks, look to Natus Vincere to prioritize Inferno or Dust2 with Fnatic looking to put in Nuke somewhere there.

Either way, regardless of how the map veto turns out, one thing that we can expect is for both teams to be playing at their absolute best come the StarSeries i-League Season 7 Grand Final. Considering how capable these two CS:GO teams are when it comes to winning their map picks and how different their map pools are, you’ll be better off focusing on how this series is likely to go down the wire as opposed to choosing a winner.
