The latest StarSeries i-League Season 6 title odds are in, and mousesports, North, and BIG are the three top contenders to win the 16-team tournament at the Kiev Cybersport Arena in Kiev from October 7 to October 14.
Mouz likely owes their status as the heavy favourites to win the StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 6 to their upset win at the ESL One New York 2018.
ArcaneBet was kind enough to provide the latest StarSeries i-League Season 6 title odds, led by mousesports as the title favourites at 3.50 odds. Next to them are North at 4.33 odds, and finally, BIG at 5.00 odds to round out the top three.
Of the three noted teams, only BIG have yet to win a tournament in the past two months. The closest the Germans ever got was a second-place finish at the ESL One Cologne 2018. Meanwhile, North won DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 at the start of September. In doing so, they became one of the few teams to have ever beaten the current iteration of Astralis in a Grand Final. Then, there’s mousesports, who rallied from a 13-4 deficit in the fourth map against Team Liquid to stave off elimination and eventually take home the ESL One New York 2018 trophy.

For a 16-team tournament with a $300,000 USD prize pool, the Starseries & i-League Season 6 did not exactly draw in a lot of top teams. The consensus best CS:GO team in the world, Astralis, are notably absent from the tournament. So too are the Danes’ closest rivals, Natus Vincere, as well as Team Liquid, who are still looking for their first title win in over six months.
With three of the top CS:GO teams in the world absent from the tournament, all eyes will be on mousesports, North, and BIG.
For BIG, many have looked at them as just simply a big win away from breaking out for quite a while now and they came very close at ESL One Cologne 2018. At the same time, North have looked more like a mere flash in a pan after failing to follow up their win at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 with anything significant.
Having recently swapped out Mathias ‘MSL‘ Lauridsen for Casper ‘cadiaN‘ Møller and recalling Nicklas ‘gade‘ Gade from OpTic Gaming to replace Nikolaj ‘niko‘ Kristensen, North will look to recapture some of that honeymoon magic in Kiev in a few days.
Can Mousesports Keep Up Their Form?
Winning a title is impressive. Keeping your form is even more impressive. That’s exactly why there’s already a lot of chatter for calling Astralis as a dynasty, which they arguably are another Major win from doing so.
mousesports aren’t even remotely close to earning that dynasty title just yet. However, you can’t deny their potential. If all the cards fall their way, this team could probably achieve even more in the coming months.
Case in point, Janusz ‘Snax‘ Pogorzelski, who had a storied 4-year career with Virtus.Pro before coming aboard just this June, is finally starting to look comfortable with the team. He is an extremely good player if he finds his form, and with the team’s chemistry only going to get better the more tournaments they make a deeper run in, it won’t be a surprise if mousesports start giving the likes of Team Liquid, Natus Vincere, and Astralis, a good run for their money.
