Spring 2018 NA LCS Week 5 Preview - Can TSM Continue Their Comeback? - Esportsranks
Spring 2018 NA LCS Week 5 Preview – Can TSM Continue Their Comeback?

After the shenanigans of last week, the Spring 2018 NA LCS is officially in its craziest year yet. TSM are still struggling in the middle of the pack, but at least they’ve won games now. The whole thing is still to play for.

C9 and Echo Fox seem the most likely contenders, but as we hit the half-way point of the season there is still a chance that one of them may capitulate, and end up with a far worse ranking than they currently have. Golden Guardians and Optic both picked up wins last week, and everyone seems capable of beating everyone, in a wild and exciting week 5 of the Spring 2018 NA LCS.

TL vs. CLG – Saturday 22:00 (GMT) 2/5 vs. 7/4

Team Liquid have looked much better this year so far, although both teams had 0-2 records last week. TL are still considered favourites to win the whole split, which makes them favourites in many people’s eyes to win this game. Betway certainly think so, as they have CLG at 7/4 and Liquid at 2/5. There is a lot of potential for CLG to beat TL, however. Both teams have been slightly inconsistent and depending on which team shows up, either could win.

C9 vs. TSM – Sunday 00:00 (GMT) 3/4 vs. 19/20

Let’s go C9! TSM! TSM! Expect these competing shouts to be heard all around the arena on Saturday. The old rivals will go head-to-head, with the dominant looking C9 looking to cement themselves as the new kings of NA. If TSM lose this one, they will be hard-pressed to finish their season off as well as most of their previous seasons. The odds on this are almost even, so we recommend that you sit back and watch, rather than have a flutter.

CG vs. TSM – Sunday 20:00 (GMT) 31/20 vs. 9/20

After Clutch Gaming managed to overcome Bjergsen and his boys last week, TSM have the chance to put things right the week after. Almost unbelievably the bookies still have TSM as heavy favourites, albeit not quite as strong as the previous week. The potential for upset here is astronomically high, and although by no means certain, Clutch Gaming will be feeling very confident going into this game. With these odds it’s incredibly tempting to place a bet in favour of Clutch Gaming.

Echo Fox vs. C9 – Sunday 22:00 (GMT) 11/10 vs. 13/20

This game will be the highlight of the week, if not the season. This will be billed as the final before the final, as both the current leaders of the NA LCS collide on the Rift. Whoever wins this game will be heavily thought of as the favourites to win the Spring 2018 NA LCS. C9 have a much more solid roster, as Sneaky, Smoothie and Jensen have been playing together for years. However, in turns of raw, unadulterated talent Echo Fox just about edge it. It’s a tough one to call, and the bookies agree.

However, as a game to watch there won’t be many like it. Echo Fox have been incredibly strong at building leads (and then sometimes throwing them). If they throw any lead against C9, C9 will be clinical in their clawing back. As such, expect Echo Fox to play slightly less aggressively as they have against other teams, which C9 may work to their own advantage. Mark this one out in your diary folks, as it’s going to be an absolute banger.
