Things are heating up in the ELEAGUE, as we get closer to the Playoffs, or the New Champions Stage, as it is called. In the next forty eight hours, we will know which teams are going to qualify for the Playoffs. The winners of the Low Matches of Round 2 are Space Soldiers, Fnatic, Natus Vincere and Astralis. They will face the losers of the High Matches of Round 2, namely Gambit Esports, Vega Squadron, Team Liquid and mousesports. These are the Mid Level matches, and here are carefully analyzed predictions for all of them.
Predictions – Vega Squadron Vs mousesports
Vega Squadron have not been performing as well as they did in the Challengers Stage since they advanced to the Legends Stage. Their match against FaZe Clan didn’t go very well, and they scored just three rounds in the whole match. This underlies what we said about top teams ‘throwing’ matches in the Challengers Stage so that they can face those same teams again for an easy advancement in the Legends stage. Mousesports faced SK Gaming and lost by four rounds in Mirage, which one could say was almost an equal battle. It seems that all the teams are much more focused in this stage than they were in previous one.
Mousesports and Vega Squadron have a completely different pool of maps. Vega Squadron are good in Inferno, Mirage and Cache. Mousesports are good in Nuke, Overpass and Cobblestone. Both teams have a sixty four percent win rate in Train. Defeating mousesports won’t be as easy as defeating North, and Vega may well lose this. If you’d like to place a small stake on mousesports, the odds on them are running at 1.46.
Team Liquid Vs Natus Vincere – A Sure Win
These teams last played against each other in the New Challengers Stage, and Natus Vincere won quite easily. Team Liquid doesn’t seem to be doing too well in the Legends Stage. They lost against G2 Esports with a difference of eight rounds. Natus Vincere can probably win against Team Liquid reasonably easily. The odds are running at 1.44 on Natus Vincere, and a stake on them would not be out of place.
Predictions – Fnatic Vs Astralis
This is a face off between two fairly shattered teams. These teams are seen as among the best in the world, but their recent performances have been anything but impressive. Astralis did win a match against North, but by just two rounds. Fnatic played reasonably well against Virtus.pro, defeating them in Inferno by ten rounds. Fnatic and Astralis have played three matches against each other in the past. Astralis won quite easily in Train and Overpass. But, in the absence of dev1ce, Fnatic defeated Astralis in a match in Season 6 of the ESL Pro League. Though it seems probable that Astralis could defeat Fnatic, the odds are low, and the issue is not certain. We suggest that you not risk a stake on this match.
Predictions – Space Soldiers Vs Gambit Esports
This is the very first encounter between these teams. Space Soldiers have been playing consistently well in this event, unlike Gambit Esports. In Round 1, Gambit Esports defeated Natus Vincere by eleven rounds. Yet the same Gambit Esports then lost against QBF in Round 2. On the other hand, Space Soldiers did very well against SK Gaming, even though they lost the match, and they defeated Cloud9 in Round 2. But since they are facing Gambit Esports, who do sometimes – randomly – play quite brilliantly, this match is not a sure thing, and not a good one to bet upon.
