There are some interesting combats in the Group Matches today, and our analysts have been working overtime to give you predictions in what are turning out to be very balanced encounters. There are some good predictions below. They represent a reasonable chance to earn on a well placed stake.
Predictions for Fnatic Vs FaZe Clan
This will be the first time these two teams face each other in a LAN match since olofmeister shifted from Fnatic to FaZe. Both the teams changed their rosters at the same time, but FaZe Clan have played forty eight LAN matches since then, and Fnatic have played just twelve. This means that FaZe Clan have played four times the matches that Fnatic have. Not only that, but FaZe Clan have also won most of their LAN matches. FaZe Clan have a sixty two percent chance of a win against Fnatic.
Fnatic Vs HellRaisers
This is quite an interesting pair, as Fnatic are a tier one team and HellRaisers are tier three. If Fnatic cannot win against HellRaisers, then they had better rethink their current roster. It seems possible that we will see changes in Fnatic’s roster next year. HellRaisers do have a better win rate as compared to Fnatic, but they have never fought against a top team in offline matches, and this goes against them. On the other hand, Fnatic are an experienced team, and each of their players is very skilled, as compared to HellRaisers’. All these advantages give Fnatic a better chance at a win here.
Fnatic Vs Luminosity Gaming
This match represents another easy win for Fnatic after HellRaisers. These wins are necessary for Fnatic, because winning against FaZe Clan, Astralis or even Team Liquid is no easy task. But winning against teams like Luminosity at least gives them a chance to qualify for the Playoffs. Even though Fnatic are not doing too well in LAN matches, they have certainly shown strong plays against extremely dominating teams. Luminosity Gaming’s stats are even lower than Fnatic’s. Fnatic have the advantage here, and this is almost a sure win for them. If you’re interested in placing a stake, the odds are 1.30 on Fnatic.
Predictions for Astralis Vs Team Liquid
This is a match between two incomplete rosters. Astralis lack de1vice due to his health issues, and Team Liquid lack steel, because he joined ESL as a part of Immortals, and now cannot join Team Liquid. But even with these disadvantages, Astralis stand at number three in the rankings, and Team Liquid at number ten. Astralis is the second best team in group yellow, right after FaZe Clan. Team Liquid’s new roster have not really performed too well in LAN events. They have won two out of five matches, and those two winning matches were dragged into overtime. This gives Astralis a good chance against Team Liquid.
Astralis Vs Luminosity Gaming
These teams have not faced each other in LAN events. The reason for this is that Astralis are a tier one team, and Luminosity Gaming have fallen to tier three. They were tier one before SK Gaming took their star players. Luminosity Gaming have nevertheless managed to come this far with their current roster. There’s still no question that they cannot stand up to Astralis. This match would have been a sure thing for Astralis if dev1ce were playing instead of RUBINO.
Luminosity Gaming Vs HellRaisers
HellRaisers have done much better in offline matches as compared to Luminosity Gaming. These teams have never faced each other in offline events before with their current lineup. If we go by their stats, HellRaisers have a seventy two percent chance of defeating Luminosity Gaming. That’s really too large a difference in ability to ignore. Unfortunately, HellRaisers have never defeated any top team in offline matches, and that makes this match an unreliable one to place a stake on.
HellRaisers Vs Team Liquid
Team Liquid may be in bad shape but it’s still unlikely that they will lose against HellRaisers. HellRaisers have performed very well in offline matches, and Team Liquid are missing their new player steel. This means that Team Liquid will be playing at a disadvantage. Team Liquid is also very inconsistent in their performances. They can sometimes defeat a team like SK Gaming, and at other times they show considerable versatility in losing against a team like Ghost Gaming. HellRaisers are certainly much better than Ghost Gaming and they might win here. If you’re interested in putting something on them, the odds are 1.83 on HellRaisers.
Predictions for North Vs SK Gaming
Both teams have performed very well in LAN events. Their last encounter was in the BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen, and SK Gaming defeated North. The difference in scores was not much, which means that North do have a chance to beat SK Gaming. SK Gaming still have a fifty three percent chance to win against North in LAN matches. Both teams are bad in Nuke, so there is a good chance that Nuke will be banned. Who wins this really depends upon which team manages to pick their best maps before play.
Misfits Vs NRG Esports
Misfits are not too good at LAN matches, but they are nevertheless better than NRG Esports. One of the reasons NRG Esports look weak is because they made some changes in their roster, and those changes are not working out. The only offline victory NRG Esports have so far was a match against Luminosity Gaming, and even that went into overtime. Misfits just might be able to pull off a win here, and get their first three points in this event.
Ninjas in Pyjamas Vs OpTic Gaming
Of course, Ninjas in Pyjamas are doing much better than OpTic Gaming in offline matches. Ninjas in Pyjamas have won two Major leagues and one Premier league with their current roster. OpTic Gaming, on the other hand, have just won a Minor League this year. They did rank first in the online matches of the ESL Pro League Season 6, but as I said, those were online matches. Ninjas in Pyjamas have a fifty six percent chance of a win against OpTic Gaming. This might not look like much, but in reality all the OpTic Gaming wins in LAN matches were against tier two and tier three teams. Ninjas in Pyjamas are certainly going to win here, and a stake on them is likely to be a big earner.
North Vs Misfits
This is a match between a tier one European team, and a tier three North American team. North have a very good chance to win here against Misfits. Qualifying for a Premier LAN event is as far as Misfits usually go. Misfits only have a thirty percent chance to win against North, which makes a win very unlikely. There is some slight chance that Misfits might win if Misfits somehow manage to pick Nuke. However, this is unlikely, and the odds are 1.31 on North.
SK Gaming Vs OpTic Gaming
These teams have faced each other at IEM Oakland in best of three LAN matches, with mixed results. However, SK Gaming are in better shape than OpTic Gaming. OpTic Gaming do have friberg and allu, but they are not as effective as they used to be on their previous teams. This is a best of one match, and SK Gaming will certainly ban OpTic Gaming’s best maps. There is a good chance that either Cobblestone or Inferno will be the battlefield for this pair.
Misfits Vs Optic Gaming
OpTic Gaming may not be good against tier one teams, but they are very strong against lower ranked teams. Both teams have fought each other at iBUPOWER Masters with their current lineup and Misfits ended badly there. It was also an offline best of one match. Both teams are terrible at Cache and Inferno, but Misfits do have that distressing tendency to lose against tier one teams.
