FUT Champions Playoffs PS4 Finals

Nicolas started the finals on the wrong foot, conceding the first goal to Bayer Leverkusen’s M4RV. He didn’t let this get to him, as he kept his cool and fought back to score 4 more goals to finish the first game with a 4-1 score.

In the second match of the finals, again Nicolas effectively killed off the tie by grabbing the first goal early. M4RV fought back a by scoring a goal soon after, and a penalty late on, but those were just consolation goals. The eventual winner saw out the match with a final aggregate scoreline of 5-3.

The champion had a “perfect tournament” as he didn’t drop a single tie against any of the 12 opponents he faced. He went 7-0 to top the swiss round, and destroyed all in his path on the way to the championship.

Consistency is key

Once we got to the quarterfinals, we saw names which we were had seen repeatedly this season. Nicolas99FC, Deto, TheStrxngeR, and Marcuzo were just some of the names that we have been watching all season. They we’re joined by some competitors that have been around the pro scene for a while as well, such as Damie, who recently signed with Roma Fnatic. Of all the quarterfinal competitors, only one was a free agent – event surprise Web.

Making a splash

Competitor Web flew underneath everyone’s radar at in the FUT Champions Playoffs PS4 competition. The player from Japan may be the smallest and most soft spoken person, but what he lacks in physical stature, he made up in his gameplay. Web took out veterans Hashtag Boras and TheStrxngeR before falling to eventual runner up B04 M4RV in the semifinals.

The small Japanese contingent will clearly be happy with Web’s performance at this competition, as the country has never been traditionally strong in FIFA. Overall, web is ranked 3rd heading to the London event – a great achievement.
