Coming in live from E3 in Los Angeles, EA teased the FIFA community with another announcement. 4 more icons have been revealed for FIFA 18 and boy are there some big names. Revealed by none other than Castro_1021 and Chuboi, the new FIFA 18 Icons are: Maradona, Henry, Yashin, and Pele.
New FIFA 18 Icons
The 4 new FIFA 18 Icons announced will join the already announce Ronaldo 9 to the icons roster. While Pele has been a stalwart of the Xbox legends lineup, the new Icons will definitely be among the most expensive as it is their first time appearing in the game. The additional pressure of PS4 players being thirsty for these new icons will also help to drive prices up.
Initial reaction is that the linkups with all the players, except Yashin, have a potential to destroy opponents. A Neymar, Ronaldo 9, Pele combo will definitely be deadly. Martial, Henry, Kante, Pogba will also be a formidable lineup for professional players. Finally, a Maradona, Messi, Dybala front 3 will surely destroy opponents.
FIFA 18 Hypes up the World
FIFA 18 promises to be a huge new addition to the long running series. Having just announced that Ronaldo will be gracing the front cover, EA dropped the bomb that legends will be replaced with icons, and will be available on ALL current generation platforms.
Other updates from E3 is that Alex Hunter will be returning in the newest edition of “The Journey”. There will be new authentic likenesses of the players. 6 new archetypes means that players will act and feel more like in real life. New dynamic stadiums will add more graphics with rumours of toilet rolls being thrown on the pitch and cars around the stadiums.
What about eSports?
The FIFA eSports scene promises to be stronger than ever. With the FIWC Europe qualifiers currently underway, the hype is definitely there for FIFA 18. The landscape of the professional scene will change next year as PS4 players will now have access to the FIFA 18 icons. Currently, Xbox players dominate the competitive scene. Will this change help to bring the PS4 players to parity with their Xbox companions? Only time will tell.
