NA LCS Spring Split 2018 – TSM’s Woes continue

Week 2 of the NA LCS Spring Split 2018 concluded yesterday, with TSM at 0-2, and Team Liquid & FOX at 2-0. An impressive start for some teams, but TSM will be incredibly disappointed and a little bit worried at this start.

OPT vs. TL – TL Win

It was a very close game in the early game. TL had a slight advantage in gold, but they didn’t really get rocking early on like they did vs TSM yesterday. Optic Gaming were staying competitive, which was an impressive feat for the team which most power rankings put at the very bottom of their power rankings. However, a good catch by TL around Baron, gave TL a massive lead. TL managed to end the game shortly afterwards, but Optic definitely made them sweat more than many thought they would. Team Liquid end the first week of the NA LCS Spring Split 2018 with a 2-0 record.

FLY vs. TSM – FLY Win

FlyQuest handed TSM their second loss, which is completely against everyone’s power rankings. Despite picking up first blood and first turret, FLY managed to fight their way back into the game. They were overly aggressive and didn’t give TSM a chance to push their lead. This momentum was snowballed into a baron, and FLY were simply playing much better League of Legends. TSM were caught chasing Flame while minions took the first nexus turret. It really seemed as if TSM weren’t playing as a cohesive, intelligent unit just yet. In the end, MikeYeung got killed after trying to steal baron, followed by Zven and Mithy getting caught and FLY ended the game. Well played FlyQuest!

100T vs. CLG – 100T Win

2018 NA LCS Spring Split

Week 1 Day 2 at 2018 NA LCS Spring Split in Los Angeles, California, USA on 21 January 2018.

This was a battle not of the Titans, but of the old team-mates. You could see in the after-game interviews and in the pictures, that Aphromoo still has a lot of respect for his old team-mates. However, that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to help 100 Thieves completely destroy them. He was involved in first blood and second blood, which started a great snowball. Darshan couldn’t deal with Ssumday (although he was in a losing lane, in Gangplank vs. Darshan). A huge team-fight win over baron netted them the baron and the final push of the game.

GGS vs. C9 – C9 Win

Golden Guardians have Hai on their team, which C9 knew would make them difficult to play against. Despite this, C9 built themselves up an early game lead through some great team play. Licorice had a much better game, running rampant across the map on Kled. GG weren’t going down without a fight, but the aggressive play by C9 was too much to handle. Sneaky zoned the rest of GG while C9 took the baron. This was enough to get C9 into GG’s base, and C9 managed to end the game from the first and only baron of the game.

FOX vs. CG – FOX win

FOX managed to complete their first week with a perfect 2-0 score. This wasn’t expected, as most people thought that FOX had too many egos on one team to be successful. Huni was completely destroying Solo in the top lane, whilst Fenix in the mid lane was destroying Febiven. Apparently, Dardoch had a realisation in the pre-season, as he wasn’t getting many offers to be on teams. His ego had obviously been curtailed, and he was playing more for the team than for himself. The massive lead by FOX was snowballed into a baron, and then patient play gave them the second baron of the game. FOX managed to use this to end the game, and they will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the NA LCS Spring Split 2018.
