NA LCS Regional Finals 2018 Day 3: Odds, Analysis, Predictions

The NA LCS Regional Finals 2018 is finally down to its last leg with TSM walking away with a resounding sweep against Echo Fox to set up a matchup against Cloud9 for the last NA LCS spot at Worlds 2018.

That’s the end of the line for Echo Fox. Huni’s story of coming to the NA LCS to start a whole new legacy is officially over – at least for this year.

Having said that, we’ve now got the last match of the split, the NA LCS Regional Finals.

How TSM Won Against Echo Fox

We really can’t pin the loss to anything that Echo Fox got wrong. They played to their strengths, and things really worked out for them until they didn’t. Huni played a tank for the first two games, and made sure he engaged the opponents as hard as he could. Even so, TSM were just too good at dealing with 5v5s, and there was no way Echo Fox could penetrate their front line.

We predicted that Lost would be able to carry the game as he did against Clutch Gaming, but this match was a whole different story. Zven and Mithy, who hadn’t been doing so well thus far, suddenly took off. Zven, in particular, was a complete beast that no one on Echo Fox knew how to deal with. His kiting was impeccable, and he single handedly won teamfights and skirmishes alike for his team.

The third game saw Huni go in full offense mode with a Rumble, but even that wasn’t enough. Again, Echo Fox made perfect engages, but TSM were much too coordinated to be stopped, and won teamfights defensively. No amount of aggression was enough to bring TSM down.

While Bjergsen was the big carry as expected, it was Hauntzer who played as the unsung hero of the match. He played on Aatrox, and he truly baited Echo Fox into taking ill-advised fights. This allowed TSM to collapse on their enemies and win teamfights which may have otherwise been lost.

Betting: TSM to win at 2.05 odds (ArcaneBet)

Cloud9’s performance against Team Liquid just can’t be ignored. We need to take into account the fact that TSM are coming from a 3-0 victory, while C9 have been beaten to a pulp during a 0-3 loss.

While it’s definitely true that the last match of the NA LCS Regional Finals 2018 could swing either way, it’s also clear that momentum is on TSM’s side.

Sneaky made his plays, but his team wasn’t exactly there to hold him up. Liquorice stood out with how much of a liability he was being. Jensen got absolutely thrashed by Pobelter. And, while it’s up for debate as to whether Bjergsen is more talented or not, it’s a given that he’ll give Jensen a really rough time.

We think TSM will make their mark in NA LCS history and win this match. It might be difficult, and they might have to go all the way to the fifth match, but they could really be able to pull this one off.

Regardless of the results, however, we’re sure to see some of the best that NA has to offer with a berth in the Worlds on the line.
