Esportsranks has been carefully following the action that unfolded during the NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 4 midweek. Let’s dive right into it!
NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 4 Midweek – Day 1 (June 23)
IMT vs. CLG – 2:0
A sweeping 2-0 for Immortals in the opening series of Week 4 gave us an answer to a question of who the better top team was at the moment. The first match was a landslide victory for Immortals. The second one, was much closer on paper. CLG was aggressively racking up kills in the early and mid-game, but it seems Immortals didn’t mind it all too much. Instead, they focused on clever lane pushing and destroying towers. The tempo swung rapidly into their favour shortly after they took the Baron kill. Minutes later, they sealed the series for a top spot in the bracket.
FOX vs. P1 – 0:2
Just as we predicted in our NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 4 preview, Phoenix1 took the first win this season! What’s even more impressive is they convincingly swept a solid Echo Fox lineup in both matches. Desperate overhauls in the starting lineup for P1 in the past few weeks finally paid off. Jungler MikeYeung and former DIG support Xpecial added just the right doses of punch power and stability to make Phoenix1 competitive again. It rises from the ashes, as always!
NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 4 Midweek – Day 2 (June 24)
TSM vs. FLY – 2:0
After a few bumps along the road, TSM is propelling full-speed to the top where they belong, no doubt about it. On the other hand, FlyQuest’s predicament spells trouble and future looks grim. It remains to be seen whether they can claw their way out of the rabbit hole.
CLG vs. NV – 2:1
CLG’s aggressive playstyle is definitely exploitable. Team EnVy has failed to take the series, but they have demonstrated once again that CLG can easily lose if their plan A doesn’t work out. The 15-2 statement in the second match is enough proof for that. Nevertheless, it’s a W on the record for CLG, and that’s all that really matters in this stage of the season.
C9 vs. TL – 2:0
Team Liquid has joined in on the massacre of underdogs this week. Despite a glimpse of hope in the midgame of the first match, TL has been kept on the back foot constantly, with C9 Jensen racking up 15 kills total. C9 demonstrated a solid performance reminiscent of their old selves. The real test comes next week though.
IMT vs. DIG – 2:1
Immortals have definitely shown the most consistency so far. Obviously, they kept that bar high enough against Team Dignitas as well. Despite losing the first game rather convincingly, the second one was a smashing 24-4 win, and the rubber match was a snowballing victory from the get go. Dignitas still lacks that little bit of extra to win series like these. However, they’re not far from it either.
The excitement of NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 4 doesn’t end here. Stay tuned as we bring you the recap of the final day, as well as a preview of next week’s Rift action.
