- June 9, 2017
With ridiculously surprising series of upsets in NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 1, Week 2 brings more uncertainty. We can no longer be decently sure about any outcome. However, we at Esportsranks will always bring you insight into our own analysis and predictions, so here we go – NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 2 schedule & predictions!
NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 2
DAY 1 (June 9)
P1 vs. C9
After disappointing NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 1 performances, both teams are eager to get back to winning ways. Overall, C9 should at least edge out a 2:1 win here, as P1 has shown a disturbing lack of proper competitive form last week.
WINNER PREDICTION: C9, they’re the top 2-3 NA team after all…
IMT vs. NV
IMT entered the split with an absolute show of force last week, defeating Spring Split’s 3rd placed team P1 first, and then absolutely smashing through reigning LCS champs TSM on Day 3. However, Envy players have shown a class of their own, going to distance against P1 as well. Still, it looks that, at least at the moment, IMT is a better team overall, so this certainly should be another tight series win for them.
WINNER PREDICTION: IMT, but not easy
DAY 2 (June 10)
DIG vs. TSM
Despite Team Dignitas being one of the upset-quartet from the first week of the NA LCS 2017 Summer Split, TSM is still a top 2 team. This should be a routine job for TSM, on par with their clear victory over C9.
WINNER PREDICTION: TSM sweeps
FOX vs. CLG
While FOX also surprised many last week, it wasn’t THAT convincing of an upset as CLG’s monstrous stomping of C9. If the last week showing of CLG was a fluke, an anomaly, then this might turn bloody real quick. Otherwise, CLG gets this one too.
WINNER PREDICTION: CLG baby!
IMT vs. FLY
Now this is one of the easiest, if not THE easiest, to predict. IMT had an astonishing 2:0 series against TSM on Day 3. They have a very solid chance at the throne if they keep up the level of their play.
FlyQuest, on the other hand, clearly had trouble against inspired Echo Fox and matured Team Dignitas.
WINNER PREDICTION: IMT, easily
NV vs. TL
Envy came with a significantly better prepared lineup this time around. TL still rightfully belongs to the lower half of the group, although they were thrown into the meat-grinder last week against CLG and FOX.
WINNER PREDICTION: NV, but it could easily go to distance
DAY 3 (June 11)
FOX vs. C9
This series’ result heavily depends on C9. If they manage to break the equally destabilised P1, they should recover psychologically. Meanwhile, FOX is definitely coming in hot from the great Week 1 start. It’s going to be a tight one this time, mark my words!
WINNER PREDICTION: C9 should win on experience and quality
DIG vs. TL
Not much to be said here. TL doesn’t look to have improved enough, while Dignitas finally proved their own worth last week. Still, TL could take one game at least. Our NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 2 dud of the week.
WINNER PREDICTION: DIG are clear favorites
CLG vs. TSM
Based on NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 1 results and team performances, this one will be a true test for TSM. CLG’s aggressive duo, Dardoch and Darshan, will set up the early tempo and won’t show any respect towards TSM longstanding champion title. Meanwhile, TSM, should they win against DIG the day before, will come in relaxed and confident enough. It’s going to be very close, definitely. This is the standout matchup of the NA LCS 2017 Summer Split Week 2.
WINNER PREDICTION: CLG by a narrow margin
P1 vs. FLY
If C9 beats them on Day 1, which is rather expected, this is the series where P1 shows their true caliber. Losing this would mean they’ll enter Week 3 with a 0-4 series score. That’s a catastrophe for a team that placed third in the Spring Split. FlyQuest is no joke of a team either, and they will probably be in desperation mode as well. Expect all hell to break loose as Phoenix1 rises from the ashes, and FlyQuest spreads their wings in their search for fate!
WINNER PREDICTION: P1. They were third in the Spring Split for Christ sake…
