18 simultaneous games later and Day 2 of the MDL Macau Minor LAN Finals has finally come to an end. Day 1 leaders, OG and TNC Pro Team, retained their spots in the Top 4, clinching their berth in the playoffs. Joining them on Day 3 are the CIS rivals, Natus Vincere and Virtus Pro, who each finished the group stages with a 5-3 record.
Surprise invites EHOME very nearly made it to the playoffs. They had a similar 4-3 record with TNC Pro Team before their matchup near the end of the day. However, a bug in Ancient Apparation’s ultimate skill Ice Blast led to a costly death for EHOME’s Chen ‘Cty‘ Tianyu and his Anti-Mage at the 22-minute mark. TNC Pro Team then proceeded to end the game just two minutes later.

TNC Pro Team held true to their monickers as “Chinese Slayers” after winning every one of their games against EHOME, LFY and LGD Gaming. They’ll look to see if they can slay other giants as well as they’re set to take on Virtus Pro tomorrow first at the MDL Macau Minor LAN Playoffs.
Speaking of Virtus Pro, the CIS bears looked a lot better on Day 2. After dropping their first two games, they ripped off 5 straight wins. They would’ve had six in a row if not for a few costly mistakes late in the game that allowed Infamous to take the win. They will now look to take down TNC Pro Team for a chance to square off against either one of their rivals in the Grand Finals.

After finishing the BO1 group stages on top of the standings with a 6-2 record, OG had earned the right to choose their opponents and they chose none other than Natus Vincere, who denied them a spot in the ROG DreamLeague Major. Whether they care to admit it or not, Tal ‘Fly‘ Aizik are looking for payback, which should make for quite the exciting series tomorrow.
As for the teams who failed to make it to the playoffs, it’s back to the drawing board for them for now. Infamous, in particular, seems to be a prime candidate for a roster shuffle. Meanwhile, LGD Gaming will need to work out their issues should they want to have a better showing at the Summit 8 Minor next week.
