The latest MDL Macau 2019 betting odds are in and in the eyes of oddsmakers, both Virtus.Pro and Team Liquid have the best chances of winning the tournament.
With PSG.LGD out due to an injury suffered by Yang ‘Chalice‘ Shenyi and Newbee in their place, as well as Evil Geniuses playing without Syed Sumail ‘SumaiL‘ Hassan, the MDL Macau 2019 betting odds have shifted accordingly to lean more heavily towards the two aforementioned teams.
Of course, despite being nearly dead even with Team Liquid, Virtus.Pro should still be the team to beat. Favored at 2.50 odds to win (bet $100 to win $250), as per the most recent lines from 10bet, Virtus.Pro are easily one of the two best Dota 2 teams in the world right now. After all, they, along with Team Secret, are the only teams to have mathematically secured their spot at The International 2019 in August this early on in the season.
Boasting a lineup that has had one of the most successful runs in Dota 2 history, with a TI the only thing left that they have to win yet, beating Virtus.Pro should be the top priority of every team at MDL Macau 2019.
MDL Macau 2019 Betting Odds — Analyzing the Favourites
Player burnout has cost Team Liquid a lot this season. As a result, they have had quite the quiet campaign. Even so, the current lineup has given us little reason to doubt their strength whenthey’re complete. Case in point, the last time we saw Team Liquid play with their complete roster, they completely decimated their opposition at the MegaFon Winter Clash. In particular, Amer ‘Miracle-‘ Al-Barkawi, went supernova at that particular tournament, ending the tournament with a 23.33 K/D/A.
Team Liquid, who are at 3.00 odds, should be able to focus on winning now that they have their superstar midlaner once again after he skipped the Chongqing Major following his last-minute decision to go on an emergency leave.
Evil Geniuses surely would have sat higher than 8.00 odds to win on the latest MDL Macau 2019 betting odds had it not been for their recent temporary roster change. However, with SumaiL out on a persona leave, Evil Geniuses just aren’t the same team. Even though Quinn ‘CCnC‘ Callahan is a capable stand-in, losing the self-proclaimed “King” significantly hurts their chances of winning the tournament.
But, then again, who knows? After all, Evil Geniuses still do have three other players who are perfectly capable of taking over games on their own.
MDL Macau 2019 Betting Odds — The Dark Horses
Evil Geniuses are technically still dark horses, especially since they have a fair shot at winning the tournament. But, we’re not betting on it. Instead, if we do have to pick just one of the Dota 2 teams outside of Team Liquid and Virtus.Pro,we’re going with EHOME.
No offense to the other Dota 2 teams, but they have yet to prove themselves this season. Newbee, the last-minute entry, haven’t even been able to qualify for a tournament at all. The same goes for Invictus Gaming, a team that hasn’t really had much relevance since Xu ‘BurNIng‘ Zhilei retired two years ago. Meanwhile, for all the hype surrounding their roster, Royal Never Give Up are far too dependent on their young stars to carry them to wins — a formula that just isn’t going to work against top-caliber teams.
Last, but certainly not the least, Vici Gaming are on the verge of breaking up; they’ve even already tried swapping out players on their roster. Even if they’re now back to playing with their regular rotation, the team’s chemistry is likely far from ideal right now.
EHOME, on the other hand, got a chance to tussle with the big boys at the Chongqing Major following their win at the Bucharest Minor, and they proved that they belonged with a Top 6 finish.
With their two young cores, Luo ‘eGo‘ Bin and Li ‘ASD‘ Zhiwen, less likely to make mistakes now that they’ve had more experience playing under pressure, EHOME should not be underestimated at MDL Macau 2019.
