Alliance drops two of its remaining players as Jonathan Berg, better known via his in-game monicker Loda, announces his return as an active player after taking a brief hiatus earlier this year.
Team Alliance Clean House
Alliance has mostly had underwhelming showings in LAN tournaments after bottoming out at TI6. Even when the team added the likes of Adrian ‘Era‘ Kryeziu and Axel ‘PABLO‘ Källman for the TI7 qualifiers, Alliance couldn’t get anything going and failed to qualify for TI7.
It’s worth noting, however, that Alliance’s most recent roster gave the organisation their first LAN title in nearly two years.
“I have returned to the Alliance Dota Squad. But in comparison to last year I will take some time to get the roster ready,” Jonathan Berg wrote in Alliance’s latest announcement. “I might switch to a very uncharacteristic role in order to better lead the team, but it all depends on what we will need.”
Loda is as qualified as any to rebuild and captain Alliance. Not only is he Alliance’s longest tenured player, but he was also part of the Alliance roster that won TI3. He is also a veteran of the Dota scene with more than a decade of professional experience under his belt.
As of now, Loda remains the only player announced for Alliance’s roster for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
