It’s going to be an intense day in the Starladder & i-League StarSeries today, with high odds on teams like Liquid and Astralis. There have also been some crucial changes among top pro teams. Seized has been snapped up by Gambit Esports, who are giving him a trial run. This could massively benefit Gambit, as seized is an experienced rifler, and a skilled lurker. He has played for Natus Vincere for five years.
Team Dignitas have a new roster, comprising the members of the now-defunct SoaR Gaming. Their previous members were given the boot. Such is the way of competitive CS:GO. Finally, Heroic took on RUBINO, while benching es3tag. RUBINO did very well when he replaced Astralis’ dev1ce when dev1ce was ill, so if Heroic can tap into his abilities this could be a potential game changer. Finally, HellRaisers’ ISSAA will not be able to attend the event in Kiev due to visa issues, and has been replaced by HS instead. So those are the roster changes, folks, and those are the teams to watch for potentially superior play… or not. These roster changes could cut either way. So let’s cut to the chase ourselves, with the best high-odds predictions for today.
High odds on Astralis Vs Team Liquid
Team Liquid are back in action after their recent win at the CS Summit 2. The new Team Liquid lineup have a seventy three percent win rate. They have put down teams like Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming and Cloud9, so if this isn’t a team in excellent good form, we don’t know what is. Astralis have hardly been doing badly either, having won five out of the eight matches they’ve played with Magisk on their roster, with dupreeh and devi1ce back in their old roles. Astralis look strong, but, with the odds on both teams running at 1.88, Team Liquid are the likely winners here.
Natus Vincere Vs HellRaisers
These teams recently encountered each other in the EPL Season 7 online qualifiers. There, they fought each other in two best of one matches, and each won one match. The first match was an easy win for Natus Vincere, but they lost by two rounds in the next match, where HellRaisers got to choose their best map. However, this is a best of three, and HellRaisers aren’t likely to excel here. This is a clear win for Natus Vincere, with the odds on them running at 1.41, which aren’t high odds, by any means, but perfectly reasonable for a win.
Mousesports Vs Virtus .pro
Virtus.pro have only played two matches with MICHU on their roster, against Nemiga and Red Reserve. Of course, they won both those matches, but considering the relative standing of Virtus.pro as compared with those teams, the wins hardly count as proof that their roster change is working out. Playing against mousesports will be the real test. For the record, mousesports have played five maps against Virtus.pro, winning four of them, when TaZ was still part of the team. The odds favor mousesports here, running at 1.40, which are still reasonable for a stake. Trust mousesports, at least until such a time as Virtus.pro prove themselves against top pro teams.
G2 Esports Vs Renegades – A Sure win
Renegades do their very best to compete with other pro teams, but a roster that is used to going up against the limited player-pool in Australia doesn’t cut it on the international scene. The result? They’re regularly decimated by top American and European talent. They’re not going to put a dent in G2’s defense here, while G2’s offensive plays are going to annihilate them. The odds are running at 1.28 on G2, which are reasonable for a sure win. While those may not be high odds, this match is as good as money in the bank.
