FUT Champions Cup Atlanta Day 1 Recap – Tekkz and Msdossary show their class

Day 1 of the FUT Champions Cup Atlanta largely stuck to the script. Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt and Msdossary were the players of the day, with Tekkz going unbeaten and playing and scoring some ridiculous goals.

Msdossary looked at his best year putting 11 goals past Exrra CA and looking every part the FIFA eWorld Cup Champion.

A player to keep an eye on in Day 2 is Cormac “doolsta” Dooley. The American is a two times eMLS Champion – winning it as recently as last month. He got narrowly beat by AJAX Torre at the start of the day but won two on the bounce to give him a chance at the knockout rounds. He needs just one win tomorrow to secure that place.

Elsewhere German duo Michael “Megabit” Bittner and Mohamed “MoAuba” Harkouz performed well with Megabit, in particular, performing well. He finished the day 3-0 in the Swiss format. In this form, he looks as good as the best in the world but we have been here before and time will tell if he has what it takes to do it when it really matters.

The tournament hasn’t been without its technical difficulties. A problem with the PS4 setup means that the round 4 group games will be played on Saturday.

FUT Champions Cup Atlanta Day 1 Recap – Where’s Kurt?

It was a question on many viewer’s lips. The outspoken player was making his first appearance of the year after a lengthy ban. The relationship between Kurt Fenech and EA is frosty, to say the least, and barring a mention during an interview with streamer Castro1021, there wasn’t one second dedicated to one of the most well-known players in the game.

The stream on Twitch had a constant stream of messages of support for Kurt, and you can’t help but feel Kurt will be enjoying this situation. He knows that as he progresses EA won’t be able to ignore him, and that probably gives him more incentive than any cash or Global Series Points.

FUT Champions Cup Atlanta Day 1 recap

Round 4 of the group stages of the PS4 round will take place today.

The action doesn’t stop but expect this stream to go on a little longer today due to the technical difficulties on the PlayStation side. The day will start with the resumption of those group stages and then we will be straight into the knockout rounds.

You can follow all the action on ELEAGUE’s Twitch channel.
