Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Reverse2k missed out on qualifying as a Duo in the Fortnite World Cup Week 4 Qualifiers. It was a bittersweet weekend for the duo who started the Sunday night finals in blistering form before failing to take the win in game 8 costing them 3 crucial points, a late push in game 10 wasn’t enough. They finished 14th on 75 points – 10 short of 3rd place. And while clearly disappointed after the games Ninja let his fans know he was optimistic saying on stream “I am certain we’ll qualify, I am getting better.” They have four more opportunities to do it and on this form, you wouldn’t bet against them.
It was a hotly contested night of action that saw a number of big personalities battling it out and qualifying but with just three Duo spots up for grabs it was inevitable that some would miss out
After coming 1st in the solo qualifiers last week Tfue was hoping to add a duo tournament to his schedule in New York. His long-term duo partner, Cloakzy showed his prowess as a game leader, keep in check Tfue’s more aggressive plays but they ultimately failed to qualify finishing 6th with 82 points including 2 wins.
The top performers of the night were NRG’s Zayt and Ghost Saf. Their Saturday was top tier and they took that form into Sunday finishing in 1st with 99 points and 3 wins. They will be hoping to add a Fortnite World Cup trophy to their collection after winning at ESL Katowice earlier in the year.
Also securing qualification in Week 4 was Tempo’s Brush and CizLucky and FaZe’s Natehill and Funkbomb. The FaZe boys spent the night outside the qualification spots but jumped four places into that coveted 3rd spot in their last game – they are one of the games top duo’s and proved it once again here. Funkbomb also gained the distinction of being one of four players has qualified as both a solo and duo.
Fortnite World Cup Week 4 EU Final Standings
The EU qualifiers saw Gambit’s FwexY and Letw1k3 qualify in 2nd behind E11’s Tschilinken and Stomp who have the distinction of being the first players to finish in a qualifying spot after already qualifying. Which raises the question – should they even be able to play in these qualifiers? If you got killed by an already qualified team it feels slightly unfair… again you have to question Epic’s thought process here.
