ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals: Odds, Analysis, Schedule

The latest ESL Pro League Season 8 finals odds are now in, and to no one’s surprise, it’s the defending champions, Astralis, who are the heavy favourites to win the tournament. So far, Astralis have won 8 LAN titles this year alone. More over, they have finished outside of the Top 4 only once, which was at the ELEAGUE Major in Boston back in January. The Danes will have a chance to go for trophy No. 9 in front of their home crowd at the ESL Pro League Season 8 finals at the Sparekassen Fyn Arena in Odense, Denmark on December 4 to December 9.

As of the moment, Astralis are a 2.00 tournament favourites (bet $100 to win $200) on the ESL Pro League Season 8 finals odds monitored by 10bet.com. To say that this was expected is only fitting. After all, no one has come close to beating Astralis consistently this year. Their closest competitions, Natus Vincere and Team Liquid, who are at 5.50 odds each, have each gone through their fair share of lows in recent months.

Another team worth keeping a close eye on are MIBR, who are at 17.00 odds to win ESL Pro League Season 8. Even after their loss to Astralis in the Grand Finals of ECS Season 6, MIBR can take pride knowing that it took Astralis a near triple-OT game to fend them off.

mousesports (8.00 odds) are no slouch either, as evidenced by them winning ESL One New York 2018 a couple of months back.

ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals Odds

Judging by their current form, it’ll be a while before we see a team come close to consistently beating Astralis in a LAN. (Astralis)

It seems like oddmakers aren’t really buying into MIBR’s runner-up performance at ECS Season 6. Although they did get swept by Astralis, they did go down swinging. The first map nearly went into OT, ending with a 16-14 map score. Meanwhile, the second map could’ve gone to triple-OT if not for a few clutch plays on the side of Astralis and some costly mistakes committed by MIBR.

On the other hand, both Team Liquid and Natus Vincere aren’t looking too hot right now. It also doesn’t help that mousesports and North have been on the rise lately.

Of course, smart money is still on Astralis winning the ESL Pro League Season 8 finals. However, for the first time in quite a while, it’s anyone’s guess who their opponents will be. It’s just too close to call at this point. The rest of the field are as relatively close as they’ve ever been in recent memory, featuring a healthy mix of legitimate contenders and teams who are on the up-and-up.

Betting: Astralis to win ESL Pro League Season 8 at 2.00 odds. (10bet)

Final Thoughts

Astralis’ current run of dominance may not be unprecedented in CS:GO history, but you can’t deny that it puts them right up there as one of the most dominant teams ever to play the game. If they keep their performance up and add another Major (or even two) to their resume, and everyone will have no choice but to acknowledge that this iteration of Astralis are indeed the best CS:GO team to have ever lived.

The LAN finals of ESL Pro League Season 8 will run from December 4 to December 9, with the Group Stage taking place from December 4 to December 6 followed by the Playoffs from December 7 to December 9.
