The ESL One Hamburg 2018 title odds is here and it’s a neck-and-neck race between three teams as the heavy favourites to win the tournament, with, surprisingly enough, Team Secret, leading the way.
Team Secret, not the defending champions, are the favourites according to the ESL One Hamburg 2018 title odds by oddsmakers over at ArcaneBet, and it’s a distinction that’s well deserved.
As of the moment, Team Secret are the best Dota 2 team in Europe, which is arguably the most competitive region in Dota 2 right now. This gives them a strong case as the best Dota 2 team in the world right at this very moment, which explains why they are at 4.00 odds to win ESL One Hamburg 2018 (Bet $100 to win $400).
But, then again, it’s not like the two other teams below them are far off. Evil Geniuses, who have stayed relatively quiet since placing third at The International 2018, are tied with Virtus.Pro, the defending champions, at 4.5 odds (Bet $100 to win $450).
Those three teams are far and away the heavy favourites to win ESL One Hamburg 2018.

Perhaps the most interesting thing regarding ESL One Hamburg 2018 is the potential for teams other than Team Secret, Virtus.Pro, and Evil Geniuses, to pull off an upset run and win.
Ninjas in Pyjamas (11.00 odds), in particular, is a good team. They are a team captained by Peter ‘ppd‘ Dager who, last year, guided OpTic Gaming to numerous deep finishes despite their less-than-stellar roster.
Smart money is on Ninjas in Pyjamas as the front runners as far as wild cards go. BUT, that is contigent on the fact that ppd and his crew doesn’t find themselves matched up against Virtus.Pro in a do-or-die situation.
Virtus.Pro have so far proven themselves to be the kryptonite of ppd, having blocked his squad from achieving greater things three times last year, including sending OpTic Gaming home with only a Top 8 placement — the lowest placement ppd has ever had at a TI.
Another team that’s worth keeping a close eye on are Forward Gaming, who are basically last year’s VGJ.Storm squad who placed in the Top 8 at TI8, but with TI5 winner Saahil ‘UNiVeRsE‘ Arora in the offlane instead.
Other potential contenders include Team Aster (13.00 odds), ViCi Gaming (13.00 odds), and Alliance (17.00 odds).
ESL One Hamburg 2018 will serve as this season’s first big international LAN.
With 12 teams participating and a $500,000 prize pool, there’s a lot on the line here. Especially for the teams who need all the momentum
