ESL One Hamburg 2018: Odds, Betting Analysis, Schedule

Virtus.Pro and Team Secret stand out as the heavy favourites to win the tournament according to the latest ESL One Hamburg 2018 odds.

According to the oddsmakers over at ArcaneBet, Virtus.pro and Team Secret are now each at 4.00 odds (bet $100 to win $400) to win the tournament. Evil Geniuses, who previously were at 4.50 odds, have dropped down to third at 6.50 odds to win ESL One Hamburg 2018. This is likely the result of visa issues forcing them to play without Syed Sumail ‘SumaiL‘ Hassan.

In addition to the shift in odds at the top, the bottom teams have also become much less favoured to win. EVOS eSports are now dead last at 88.00 odds to win ESL One Hamburg 2018, followed by compLexity Gaming and paiN Gaming at 25.00 odds each.

ESL One Hamburg 2018 Odds

Having fallen short of a win at The International 2018, Virtus.pro will look to redeem themselves this season. (Virtus.pro)

While a running gag at this point, you can’t help but give Virtus.pro (4.00 odds) props for winning ESL tournaments. In particular, their tournaments where they’re putting up a brand-new Mercedes Benz car for the tournament MVP.

As of the moment, three members of Virtus.pro have each won a Mercedes Benz car courtesy of ESL — Alexei ‘Solo‘ Berezin at ESL One Hamburg 2017; Vladimir ‘RodjER‘ Nikogosyan at ESL One Katowice 2018; Vladimir ‘No[o]ne‘ Minenko at ESL One Birmingham 2018 — and they’ll likely looking to win their fourth car at ESL One Hamburg 2018.

Of course, the same could’ve been said for Virtus.pro at The International 2018 and they ended up finishing in 5th-6th place.

Without the likes of PSG.LGD and Team Liquid, as well as with Evil Geniuses (6.50 odds) playing with a stand-in in Quinn ‘CC&C‘ Callahan, their closest competition is Team Secret (4.00 odds), who, despite the sheer talent on their lineup, are the kind of team who you can never know what to expect from.

Although Ninjas in Pyjamas (11.00 odds) and Team Aster (13.00 odds) are not to be taken lightly, they’re too new as a team to take down a seasoned Virtus.Pro team, especially in a best-of-five should they meet in the Grand Finals.

Final Thoughts

With $500,000 on the line and a brand-new Mercedes Benz up for grabs, ESL One Hamburg 2018 is the biggest Dota 2 festival in Europe and will also serve as this season’s first big international LAN tournament.

ESL One Hamburg 2018 will start things with a round-robin Group Stage from October 23 to October 25 followed by a double elimination Playoffs at the Barclay Card Arena from October 26 to October 28.
