ESL One Cologne 2018 – Semifinals

Day 5 and there are only 4 teams left; Astralis, Na’Vi, Faze and BIG., Astralis and Faze each went directly to the semi-finals after 3 consecutive victories in the elimination upper bracket. The other 2 teams, Na’Vi and BIG, had to go through additional qualifications, to get here. BIG convincingly won against G2 in the quarter-finals in straight rounds, including an astonishing 16-1 on the second map, while Na’Vi had some troubles with Fnatic, but in the end, they won 2-0 as well.

We have 2 semi-final matches scheduled for today:

Astralis – Natus Vincere

Scheduled: 7/6/2018, 15:00 UTC + 2

Head to head: Astralis 43 – 29 Natus Vincere

Astralis is currently the best team in the world, with no recent roster changes and dev1ce in the best form of his life. They did not lose a single map in this tournament so far, and that is why the odds would be great on more than 2,5 total maps. Although this may be true, when we look at head to head matches this year, Na’Vi is statistically better. Na’Vi has played exactly 7 maps against Astralis this year, and they have won 4 times – 2 times on Train and 2 times on Inferno. Astralis is doing great, but they always have trouble with Na’Vi and s1mple. It would be smart to place a punt on more than 2,5 maps. Most betting sites do not offer this option, but you can find it on GG.bet @ 2,35 odds.

Head to head: Astralis 3 – 3 BIG

Although they are 3-3 in head to head matches, these 2 teams have not played a single match with their current rosters. FaZe is a way better team and this seems to be an impossible mission for BIG. Ever since IEM Sydney, only Astralis and Na’Vi have managed to beat FaZe in a best of 3 match. FaZe has a better map pool and they should be able to win this match with a handicap like Fnatic did. BIG is playing very aggressive and to maintain map control on a CT side, FaZe should play with double AWP setup. That won’t be a problem for them, NiKo could step up and be a secondary AWP player at any time. If our predictions are correct, this would be a standard 2-0 win for FaZe with NiKo and rain leading the charge on a top of the scoreboard. Our tip here is a handicap win on Faze, 1,72 @ GG.bet
