We’re already at the second round of the ELEAGUE, the first premier event of the year. At the top of the agenda today is a sure win where FaZe Clan faces Vega Squadron (how do they think up a combination like this one?). There’s little doubt about how that match will go. This second round of the ELEAGUE is divided into High and Low matches. The winners of round one will battle it out in the High matches, while the losers of that round face each other in the Low matches. The teams qualified for the High Matches are Misfits, Natus Vincere, Cloud9, G2 Esports, Sprout, mousesports, Vega Squadron and FaZe Clan. Here’s where they face off, and here are our predictions for this event.
FaZe Clan Vs Vega Squadron – A Sure Win
While this isn’t the first match of the day, it is the first sure win. FaZe Clan are hardly playing in good form, and this is something that continues from a trend they set all through the end of last year. They even had a rough time in their recent match against Team Liquid, winning by just two rounds. Nevertheless, there’s such a sheer difference in levels of skill and experience between Vega Squadron and FaZe Clan that Vega simply have no chance here.
Like all top-tier teams, FaZe tend to play in a very relaxed manner when facing an opponent that is actually not a match for them, so the match may turn against them at first, but they are sure to turn this around in the second half. Trust us, there is a reason why FaZe Clan is currently number two in global rankings, and that’s the reason they’re going to win here. This is a sure win for FaZe Clan at odds that are currently running at 1.12.
Mousesports Vs Natus Vincere
Had this match been a few months back, we would have classed it as an easy win for mousesports. But Natus Vincere have been making changes to their roster, and are now an extremely lethal team. These teams fought against each other last month at the DreamHack Open Winter Finals. There, Natus Vincere defeated mousesports in the first two matches in a best of three, the maps they fought on being Cobblestone and Inferno. Mousesports is not a team who keep repeating same mistakes and they most probably have adapted against Natus Vincere. However, mousesports are a lethal team in their own right, and this match could go either way. We recommend that you sheer off from betting on this one, and put any extra cash you may have lying around on the first pick, which is an absolutely sure pick, even though it is at lower odds. Sure wins are as good as money in the bank, even at lower odds.
Sprout Vs Cloud9
Sprout is doing very well, and has defeated Space Soldiers in Round one. But their next opponent is Cloud9, who currently stand second in the North American rankings, and fifth in the global rankings. This doesn’t mean Sprout is bad, but they do stand twenty ninth in the global rankings. These teams have never faced each other, and this will be their very first encounter. If we go by the stats, Cloud9 have a fifty four percent chance to win this match, and they have the advantage of a bigger map pool. It seems we can rely upon Cloud9 today, with the odds on them running at 1.32.
Misfits Vs G2 Esports
FlipSid3 Tactics’ tactics didn’t work against Misfits, and they were able to win just four rounds against them. This shows that Misfits take each match seriously. On the other hand, G2 Esports took Flash Gaming lightly and then had to struggle to win the match. Of course, G2 Esports still won by five rounds, but they could have done much better. It seems they were really enjoying the match. But this attitude could be dangerous against Misfits. Misfits are a team who train hard and play hard. G2 Esports do have the better chance of a win in a match against Misfits. If you go by the overall stats, G2 Esports have a fifty five percent chance of a win here. G2 Esports are one of the toughest teams around, and they have a record of doing very well in the first six months of the year. If you’d like another sure bet for today, bet on Team Liquid as they play in the Low Matches today.
