In an epic rematch, FaZe Clan will face Vega Squadron again today. The last time these teams met, in the initial rounds of the ELEAGUE, FaZe suffered a humiliating defeat. Now, in an interesting turn of events, the two teams will face off again. Will FaZe avenge their defeat? Or will Vega Squadron, who have been playing brilliantly all through this event, defeat FaZe and prove that last year’s potential super-team are no more than a group of aging CS:GO veterans? We’ll be balancing the chances of each of these teams here, as well as those of the other teams taking part in the High Matches of the ELEAGUE.
FaZe Clan Vs Vega Squadron
FaZe aren’t quite facing disaster if they lose this match against Vega Squadron. Should they lose to Vega Squadron, they’ll still go on to the Mid Matches of Round 3, to fight a winner of the Low Matches. We doubt there’s any team in the Low Matches that could easily defeat FaZe Clan. However, FaZe do stand to lose a lot of prestige if they lose this match. Vega Squadron, on the other hand, have defeated FaZe Clan before, but it is still unlikely that they will do it again here.
FaZe cannot really afford to lose more global standing than they already have. This is also a match that, by allowing them to strike back at the very team that caused their loss of prestige, also gives them a massive opportunity to get a lot of that prestige back. So this is a match that FaZe cannot really afford to lose, and once FaZe cannot afford to lose a match, there aren’t many teams around that can beat them.
Quantum Bellator Fire Vs Gambit Esports
QBF, with a combination of luck and skill, have done exceptionally well at this event. Of course, we do have to bear in mind that Virtus.pro like to drag whatever reputation they have left through the mud at regularly intervals, by playing exceptionally badly, and losing to some new team. But even given Virtus.pro’s exceptional talent for losing ‘professionally’, QBF have done well here. However, Gambit are a team that take winning seriously, and they are likely to be brutal here. Gambit Esports are going all out to win at this event, and a win here against Virtus.pro will put them a step closer to the title. Gambit are the ones to put your money on here, with the odds on them running at 1.17. They are a careful, truly professional team, and will not let you down.
G2 Esports Vs Team Liquid
G2 Esports have not lost a single match since the start of this event. One of their matches did go into overtime, but they managed to win that overtime flawlessly. Team Liquid, on the other hand, could hardly be said to have a good record at this event. They have been struggling against teams that were then defeated fairly easily by other big teams. G2 Esports are not going to let slip this chance to add a point to their score.
There is no doubt that Team Liquid are a good team, but with their current lineup, they stand little to no chance against G2 Esports. The only chance Team Liquid have is if G2 Esports see them as weak and start soloing instead of playing as a team. They do enjoy soloing against poor teams, which sometimes goes against them. With the odds running at 1.44 on G2, a stake here should garner reasonably winnings.
SK Gaming Vs mousesports
These teams encountered each other last year, at ESG Tour Mykonos, and their match there went into overtime. SK Gaming won that overtime in Inferno without losing a single round. However, since then mousesports have shown a lot of improvement in their play, and today stand seventh in the world ranking. SK Gaming did win their match against Space Soldiers, just as we predicted, but it wasn’t easy, and that wasn’t because felps has replaced boltz on the team at this event. On the contrary, felps played better than fer, TACO and coldzera, and was the third most effective player at the event. This match is going to be very interesting, since mousesports lost against Space Soldiers in the New Challengers Stage, even though the map went into overtime. That little fact gives SK Gaming a reasonable chance of crushing mousesports here.
