In a desperate bid to up their chances of qualifying for The International 2018, Zhang ‘xiao8‘ Ning has been brought in to coach the EHOME Dota 2 roster. In addition to this, Hu ‘Guvara‘ Sen was also transferred from EHOME.Immortal to serve as the team’s offlaner.
Guvara will displace Zhang ‘Faith_bian‘ Ruida as the former TI6 champion moves to the position 4 to accommodate the change. At the same time, Xu ‘Hym’ Zhi was removed completely from the roster.
EHOME Dota changes:
Guvara replaces hym, will play offlane.
TI4 champion xiao8 joins EHOME as coach.

EHOME are one of the oldest organizations in the scene. They precede even the game itself. In fact, many recognize the organization as having had the best team in the world prior to the introduction of Valve’s premiere MOBA. However, after losing to Natus Vincere at the very first International back in 2011, EHOME have not had as much success. This is especially true over the past two years.
The recent changes to the EHOME Dota 2 roster aim to fix all of that.
What Does Xiao8 Bring to the Table?
Xiao8 is one of the most popular professional Dota 2 players in China. He was also part of Newbee’s Dota 2 roster that ended up winning The International 2014. However, after since spending time playing for LGD Gaming and LGD.ForeverYoung in 2o16, Xiao8 has not had an active presence in the competitive scene. Although he was spotted playing in the Chinese regional qualifiers along with fellow Chinese Dota 2 legend Xu ‘BurNIng‘ Zhilei with Big God earlier this year.
While Xiao8 will not join EHOME as a player, we cannot just underestimate the effect of having a good coach. Especially one that is as influential and experienced as Xiao8. In fact, we have already seen this in practice. It wasn’t until Tang ‘71‘ Wenyi came on board as their coach that Mineski started playing well. So, it won’t come off as a total surprise then if see a huge improvement from the EHOME Dota 2 roster in the coming weeks.
To say that the EHOME Dota 2 roster has not maximized its talent is only fitting. After all, it’s not often you have two former TI winners teaming up to form a rather mediocre team. Not when the rest of the roster aren’t exactly pushovers themselves. To date, EHOME have only played in one Pro Circuit LAN all season long. That was at MDL Macau where they got to play only because they received a free invite.
How well do you think the addition of Xiao8 as a coach and Guvara in the offlane will help the EHOME Dota 2 roster? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
