Esports Championship Series – Fnatic will meet FaZe Clan

Fnatic has been doing very well in the Esports Championship series, effortlessly driving through the opposition. They first defeated Luminosity Gaming in the initial matches, and then later, and on the same day, overpowered OpTic Gaming. On the other hand, FaZe Clan have been playing as unreliably as any so-called ‘superteam’. They defeated Team Liquid by just four rounds, and were then, astoundingly, defeated by Astralis, losing by three rounds. FaZe had to fight their way back into the event by crushing Cloud9 in a decider match.

Can Fnatic beat FaZe Clan in a best of three?

FaZe Clan have played one hundred and sixteen matches with their current lineup and won seventy nine of them. This gives them a win rate of sixty eight percent. Sixty three of their matches have been LAN matches, of which they have won forty three, with one draw and nineteen losses. This means that FaZe Clan has a win rate of sixty percent for LAN matches. This is actually a rather good indication for any team, showing that they have equal levels of competency in online and offline events. FaZe have played twelve best of three matches, and won nine of them, which makes their win rate in best of three matches an astounding seventy five percent. Now if they could only get out of the habit of casually losing matches for seemingly no reason at all.

Fnatic have played eighty two matches with their current roster, of which they won fifty one. They thus have a sixty two percent win rate. Out of those eighty two matches played, twenty four were LAN matches. They won thirteen of those, which gives them a win rate of fifty four percent in LAN events, which is eight percent less than their overall win rate. According the stats, FaZe Clan have a sixty percent chance to win against Fnatic in best of three matches.

FaZe Clan’s weak points

FaZe Clan are vulnerable in three of the seven official maps. Their weakest map is Cobblestone, with no wins, but Cobblestone is Fnatic’s best map with an eight three percent win rate. FaZe’s next weakest map is Nuke, with only one win out of three matches played. However, Fnatic have never played Nuke in LAN matches, and so have little experience there. Train is FaZe’s third weakest map, with just three wins, one draw and fives losses. Fnatic seem to be better than FaZe Clan in Train, with a sixty percent win rate.

Fnatic’s weak points

Fnatic are weak in Overpass and Cache, and have not won a single match in these maps. Both Cache and Overpass happen to be FaZe Clan’s best maps, with an eighty percent win rate. Mirage could also proved dangerous to Fnatic, since they have a win rate of a mere forty percent in it, while FaZe Clan have won most of their matches in Mirage, and have a win rate of eighty two percent. Both teams are more or less equal in Inferno.

Weighing the odds

Both teams counter each other, with one team’s best maps being the other team’s worst ones. This means that a match could go brilliantly for a team, or disastrously, depending on which maps are picked or banned, and how wisely. These teams have faced each other three times in LAN matches before now, and FaZe Clan won two of those encounters. Overall FaZe Clan seem to have a better chance of a win here, with the odds running at 1.29 on FaZe Clan. But watch those picks and bans carefully, because they are what will really decide the outcome of this match. Go in for live betting here for best results.
