DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7: Odds, Analyses, Predictions

It’s Grand Finals day as we head to DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7.

At this point tomorrow, only one of Tigers, Natus Vincere, and Royal Never Give Up, will stand victorious, with the trophy and a huge chunk of the $300,000 prize pool in hand. But, perhaps more important than both is the sixteenth and final spot at the Kuala Lumpur Major, where some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world will converge for what will be the first Major of the 2018-18 Dota Pro Circuit.

Although not as heavily favoured to win heading into the first Minor of the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit, there were never really any doubts regarding the talent on Tigers’ roster. But, the question with Tigers was their consistency as a team and if the rest of the lineup can gel together.

So far, so good.

Sporting the signature aggressive SEA playstyle and with a willingness to experiment with off-meta picks, Tigers have looked the part of a Tier 1 team. They have bested all of those who stood before them. This includes compLexity Gaming and Royal Never Give Up, beating the latter twice, the first time in the Group Stage and the second time in the Upper Bracket finals.

Now, Tigers will look to take down either one of Royal Never Give Up (again) or Natus Vincere and complete their run in DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7.

Royal Never Give Up vs Natus Vincere

DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7

One of the most mechanically skilled supports in the game, Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev will look to make Natus Vincere relevant again in his return to the organization. (DreamHack Dota)

Match Schedule: November 4, 2018 — 1330H CET

If there’s one thing that Royal Never Give Up have made clear with their performance this tournament, it’s that they struggle against teams who know how to push the pace.

Insert Natus Vincere, who come in second out of all the eight teams with an average team KDA of 4.40. In contrast, Royal Never Give Up are dead last at 2.9 KDA, which is a clear indication that they like to take their time and play slow, preferring to take games late.

That’s just not gonna fly, especially in the current meta.

While this series might stretch to a full three games, don’t be surprised if Natus Vincere take it in two.

Betting: Natus Vincere to win at 2.26 odds. (GGbet)

Will Tigers Win The Tournament?

DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7

A win here will make Tigers just the second team from SEA to win a DPC tournament since the system was first introduced last season. (Tigers)

Match Schedule: November 4, 2018 — 1630H CET

With a lot more opportunity to rest and study whoever emerges from the lower bracket finals, Tigers hold a significant advantage heading into DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7.

Whether or not they can translate that advantage into a trophy win is the question.

On one hand, the momentum from their lower bracket win could give Royal Never Give Up or Natus Vincere a huge enough of a confidence boost for them to take the tournament. But, on the other hand, Tigers do have 1437, and he’s likely already studying tape of his team’s possible opponents tomorrow and thinking about what kind of unusual picks he’s going to draft to throw them off their game.

Plus, given Royal Never Give Up’s penchant for prolonging games, where their superior late-game execution gives them a huge advantage, we can’t just deny the possibility that whoever ends up facing Tigers will eventually run out of a gas, especially if the Grand Finals goes the full five games.

Which of the three remaining teams do you think will hoist the trophy and secure their slot at the Kuala Lumpur Major tomorrow at DreamLeague Season 10 Day 7? Will it be Natus Vincere, Royal Never Give Up or Tigers? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
