DreamLeague Season 10 Day 2 will see the first two teams who will advance to the Upper Brackets of the Playoffs with the losers being forced to grind it out for another day.
Just barely after ESL One Hamburg 2018 ended, the first Minor of the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit, the Corsair DreamLeague Season 10 Minor, kicked off earlier today. As expected for a tournament devoid of any solid top team, we didn’t see that many top-notch plays. But, nevertheless, it was still worth watching the teams trying to put into action their own understanding of the current meta.
Now that the first day is finished, we’ll move on to DreamLeague Season 10 Day 2, where the teams will look to secure a spot in the Upper Brackets of the Playoffs.
Having said that, let’s get right on to our picks for DreamLeague Season 10 Day 2.
DreamLeague Season 10 Day Predictions
Infamous vs Vega Squadron
Match Schedule: October 30, 2018 — 1030H CET
Indecisiveness and the lack of proper leadership showed up as Infamous’ biggest weaknesses as compLexity Gaming swept them during the opening match of the tournament. However, you could say the same for their opponents, Vega Squadron, who looked just as out of sorts as they dropped two games in a row to Natus Vincere.
In a battle of two mediocre teams, how do you pick out the winners? It’s simple. You look at the lineup. Although Vega Squadron did indeed drop the ball against Natus Vincere, or so to speak, this is still a team composed of better talents. That’s true even if they are playing with a stand-in in the form of TI winner Danil ‘Dendi‘ Ishutin.
Even if Infamous aren’t half-bad themselves, their lack of experience as a team and up against international competition puts them at a significant advantage against Vega Squadron.
Betting: Correct Score 0:2 (In Maps) in favour of Vega Squadron at 2.35 odds. (GGbet)
The Final Tribe vs ROONS
Match Schedule: October 30, 2018 — 1330H CET
ROONS are a meme team. Let’s make that clear.
No offense to their players, but their name speaks for itself. The only reason they qualified for DreamLeague Season 10 is because all of the good NA teams are already qualified for the Kuala Lumpur Major.
Even though ROONS performed admirably against Tigers, their matchup against The Final Tribe isn’t going to be anywhere near as close.
You can pencil this in for a quick sweep in the favor of The Final Tribe.
Betting: Correct Score 2:0 (IN MAPS) in favor of The Final Tribe at 1.53 odds. (GGbet)
compLexity Gaming vs Natus Vincere
Match Schedule: October 30, 2018 — 1630H CET
The closest match up of the DreamLeague Season 10 Day 2 can go either way, and it’s mostly both teams are as equally as inconsistent as each other.
Wonky drafts and spotty shot calling paired with the occasional brilliant plays are par for the norm for Natus Vincere, as well as compLexity Gaming. However, as far as which of these two are more likely to win, we’re going to have to side with the CIS organization.
As inconsistent as Natus Vincere have been, they have much more proven players, highlighted by a TI-caliber captain in Akbar ‘SoNNeikO‘ Butaev and stable carry in Vladislav ‘Crystallize‘ Krystanek. On the other hand, compLexity Gaming are very much a work in progress, with the potential to go big or break up, depending on how things turn out in the next couple of months.
Although, as mentioned earlier, this match could go either way, we’re inclined to go with Natus Vincere on this one.
Betting: Natus Vincere to win vs compLexity Gaming at 1.76 odds. (GGbet)
Royal Never Give Up vs Tigers
Match Schedule: October 30, 2018 — 1930H CET
The fact that Tigers struggled more than most would have expected against ROONS is a testament to how much of a skill difference there is between them and a solid Tier 2 team like Royal Never Give Up.
This isn’t to say that this matchup is going to be completely lopsided, though.
From what we’ve seen so far, Royal Never Give Up aren’t exactly the picture of efficiency themselves. They make a lot of sloppy plays. In fact, the only reason why they’re winning despite their lackluster play is a combination of their sheer collective talent as a team and the fact that their opponents just don’t play well enough to punish them for their shortcomings.
That includes Tigers.
While Tigers do indeed have potential, they obviously still have a long way to go, which is exactly why this series is likely going the way of Royal Never Give Up.
Betting: Correct Score 2:0 (IN MAPS) at 2.51 odds. (GGbet)
