Day 4 of the DreamLeague League Play continues with an all-CIS with Vega Squadron squaring off against both Team Empire and Virtus.Pro in back-to-back BO2 matches.
With that said, here are our betting predictions for today’s matches, October 9.
Vega Squadron vs Team Empire
On paper, Team Empire remains the better team; they’re arguably the third best team in CIS, firmly right behind Natus Vincere and Virtus.Pro. However, the fact that they have yet to qualify for any Pro Circuit tournament this season while Vega Squadron have has to account for something.
Betting odds currently favour Team Empire; they are at 4/6 to take a map off of Vega Squadron. However, given their recent history of splitting the first two games and the fact that they’re only playing a BO2, betting on a tie seems like the more logical thing to do.
Betting: Team Empire vs Vega Squadron to tie at 10/11 (bet365)
Virtus.Pro vs Vega Squadron
Virtus.Pro have only lost four games this season and were, at one point, riding a 13-game win streak. Thanks to OG, however, that win streak has since been broken, but that doesn’t really mean anything. Especially not when they’re up against a Vega Squadron squad who are essentially just on par with the other squads the bears have demolished.
You can literally count on one hand the number of teams participating in the DreamLeague League Play that can take down Virtus.Pro and the sharks aren’t one of them.
Right now, Vega Squadron are looking at odds of 3/1 to win at least one map and 14/1 to sweep the series, which essentially means they’re clear-cut underdogs.
If you’re feeling lucky, you can bet on Vega Squadron taking at least one map off of Virtus.Pro. Otherwise, I’d recommend skipping on betting on this match entirely; odds of 2/9 per map aren’t exactly worth it on unless you’re okay with a very small return.
If you insist, though, Virtus.Pro are at a slightly profitable odds of 1/2 to sweep Vega Squadron.
Betting: Virtus.Pro to win at 1/2 (bet365)
DreamLeague League Play Schedule
Most teams are currently busy preparing for the upcoming Starladder Minor on October 12, which means that the DreamLeague League Play won’t likely resume for at least until the end of the ESL Major on October 26.
With that said, be sure to cast in your bets before the book closes.
Day 4 of the DreamLeague League Play will start at 18:30 CEST with Empire taking on Vega Squadron followed by Virtus.Pro vs Vega Squadron at 21:00 CEST.
