The organization’s naming of Alexander ‘XBOCT’ Dashkevic as the new NaVi coach is the first in what’s likely to be a series of changes coming to Natus Vincere’s Dota 2 roster soon.

The Return of Navi (?)

Despite their lack of success in recent years, Natus Vincere remains one of the most well-known organisations in the Dota 2 scene.

Their run of dominance from 2011 to 2014 remains unparalleled, their list of accomplishments seemingly endless.

To date, Natus Vincere remain the only TI champions to have ever had the chance to defend their title, albeit unsuccessfully, at TI2. NaVi is also the first and only organisation to have ever gone to multiple TI Grand Finals, having made three consecutive appearances from TI1 to TI3.

The team’s annual run of dominance catapulted Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin into fame. However, equally as important to the team’s success was their other carry player, Alexander ‘XBOCT’ Dashkevic.

XBOCT left Natus Vincere following their disappointing last place finish at TI5 after spending five years on the roster. He then tried his luck with other teams, bouncing from one CIS squad to another. However, he has never found the same level of success as he had when he donned the black and yellow.

Two years later, XBOCT now returns as the new NaVi coach.

Although no longer one of the players, his experience and winning pedigree should prove valuable as the once illustrious organisation will try to fight their way back into relevance post-TI7.
