Heading into the Chongqing Major Playoffs Day 2, we learned a couple of things from what transpired in Day 1 of the playoffs. For example, do kindly remind us to never doubt Team Secret. At least, until otherwise proven. Because, as much as Clement ‘Puppey‘ Ivanov seemed keen on pushing the meta earlier during the group stages, he drafted a more “standard” lineup come the playoffs, resulting in a rather lopsided win against Team Liquid.
Can we expect Puppey’s drafting shenanigans to pop up soon? Probably. It always happens.
In any case, with four best-of-one matches scheduled throughout the earlier portions of the day, we decided to shift our focus towards the last two matches, where EHOME will look to try and continue their run against Team Secret while Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD are set to face off in a clash of titans.
Who do we pick to win in the Chongqing Major Playoffs Day 2? Read on more below to find out.

The Chongqing Major Playoffs Day 2 Predictions
PSG.LGD vs Virtus.Pro
Match Schedule: January 22, 2018 — 1600H SGT
Heavyweight match-ups get rarely as lopsided as the one between Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD.
Post-TI7, PSG.LGD have walked away with the win 6 out of the 7 times they have matched up against Virtus.Pro. This is perhaps the only team that matches up so well against the five-time Major champions. With both teams boasting similar lineup compositions — two young, explosive and dynamic cores, a stable offlaner, a playmaking 4, and a sacrifial position 5 support — it’s no surprise why.
Lu ‘Maybe‘ Yao always seems to get the better of Vladimir ‘No[o]ne‘ Minenko in the middle lane and with PSG.LGD finally drafting like how a top-tier should with Yao ‘QQQ‘ Yi back on the lineup, PSG.LGD should be the favourites to win this epic clash tomorrow.
Betting: PSG.LGD to win at 1.86 odds. (10bet)
EHOME vs Team Secret
Match Schedule: January 22, 2018 — 1930H SGT
A matchup of arguably the two most unconventional teams of the tournament, the winners here will likely be decided by who deviates from the meta less, or who is able to execute their gameplan better.
The latter may seem pretty self-explanatory, but in the case of Team Secret and EHOME, things aren’t always so simple. Known for drafting high-risk, execution-heavy lineups, both of these teams are as much of a danger to other teams as they are to themselves.
The question now is, who will win?
Our bet’s on EHOME. Although Team Secret played remarkably well against Team Liquid, their opponents, EHOME, have been the most aggressive team of the tournament, topping the kill charts, while also dying the least times as a team, owing to their playstyle where they frequently rotate as five to make rotations and pick-offs.
Considering Team Secret’s tendency to split up and farm, EHOME will have plenty of targets to choose from across the map. Unless Team Secret adopts a split-push heavy lineup, or goes all-in on making space for Michal ‘Nisha‘ Jankowski, there’s a huge chance that they’ll lose in this matchup tomorrow.
Betting: EHOME to win at 2.55 odds. (10bet)
