Charleroi Esports 2019: Odds, Betting Analysis, Preview

A step below being considered as a marquee event, the Charleroi Esports 2019 will bring together a healthy mix of up-and-coming teams and former powerhouses in what’s set to be the first Major CS:GO tournament in Belgium.

The Charleroi Esports 2019 will feature a hefty €100,000 EUR prize pool and will run from April 12 to April 14. The schedule puts it right in contention with the BLAST Pro Series Miami 2019. But, don’t worry. Whereas the tilt in Miami boasts some of the best teams that CS:GO has to offer, the Charleroi Esports 2019 remains worth watching, especially for fans who are keen on seeing how the other CS:GO teams in the scene are doing right now.

In particular, the Charleroi Esports 2019 will serve as Virtus.Pro’s first LAN tournament together with their current lineup. It would certainly be interesting to see how the Polish squad are doing right now, with both Jarosław ‘pashaBiceps‘ Jarząbkowski and Filip ‘NEO‘ Kubski no longer part of the team.

Nostalgia isn’t the tournament’s only main draw, however.

There are some real stakes here, especially for teams who could definitely use the LAN experience. G2 Esports, for one, are likely itching to see just how much damage they can do with their latest lineup. But, of course, the days of them being the French CS:GO team to beat are long gone as Team Vitality have now firmly established themselves as one of the up-and-coming CS:GO teams to watch this season.

With that said, let us no longer delay and get right on with our betting analysis and preview for the Charleroi Esports 2019.

Is the Charleroi Esports 2019 Team Vitality’s to Lose?

Charleroi Esports 2019

Already this good before turning 19, the scariest part of ZywOo’s game is that he’s doing so well despite still having so much more room left to improve. (Team Vitality)

For a team formed just in October of 2018, Team Vitality have done relatively well.

Since the calendar turned to 2019, Team Vitality have been on roll as far as teams perceived as B-tier go. Although they still have a long way to go, they’ve shown the occasional flashes of brilliance often enough for people to think that this team isn’t just a mere flash in a pan — that they’re actually going to do some damage sooner rather than later.

Put simply, Team Vitality vaulting themselves up the standings isn’t just a matter of if anymore, but when.

At the IEM Katowice Major, Team Vitality were just literally a round away from making it to the playoffs. Sure, they would’ve probably still lost to Astralis had they made it there. However, for a team as young as they are, to make it that far would’ve been a huge achievement already. Then, at the StarSeries i-League Season 7, Team Vitality continued their winning streak against ENCE, who are legitimate contenders, and gave NRG eSports quite the scare in the quarterfinals.

Throughout it all, Mathieu ‘ZywOo‘ Herbaut have done his fair share of carrying for his squad, and the scary part is, he could still improve and be doing more.

Relative to their competition at the Charleroi Esports 2019, Team Vitality have far more firepower and individual star power. As such, anything less than a grand finals appearance for them would be a huge upset.

Charleroi Esports 2019

With nothing to lose and so much to gain from a deep run, G2 Esports have a fair shot at winning the title at the Charleroi Esports 2019 in front of their home crowd. (G2 Esports)

To be honest, it’s actually quite tempting to bank on Virtus.Pro suddenly finding their form at the Charleroi Esports 2019. After all, even in their heydays, Virtus.Pro have always had a knack for turning it up when people least expect it.

We’re not saying it’s going to happen at the Charleroi Esports 2019, but we don’t think it will surprise us if it did.

If we were to go with something more logical, however, we’d have to go with G2 Esports. The team finally decided to bring in some fresh blood after recycling the same players over and over again, and so far, it’s worked quite well for the team.

The latest G2 Esports lineup have only been together for a month or so, which means that, even if they don’t end up winning the tournament, the experience that they get here will prove invaluable for them to improve going forward. However, because the level of competition here is pretty low, G2 Esports’ chances of making it all the way to the grand finals is as good as any.

Ultimately, we don’t really see them beating Team Vitality in a series, but as a pick to make it all the way to the final series of the tournament, G2 Esports make sense.

Final Thoughts

Any team outside of Team Vitality and G2 Esports winning the Charleroi Esports 2019 will come off as a huge shock. Judging from recent showings, both teams are just on a completely different level from the rest of the pool. But, then again, anything can still happen.

Because all these teams are not really that consistent just yet, the Charleroi Esports 2019 is still anyone’s ball game.

Ultimately, however, banking on the winners is all about minimizing your risks and maximizing your returns. Of the teams playing at the tournament, only Team Vitality and G2 Esports have a bankable recent history.

So, what we’re saying is that while any of the eight CS:GO teams could win the entire thing, I wouldn’t really bet against either one of Team Vitality and G2 Esports not hoisting the trophy.
