Chappie Visa

After many days of uncertainty, the Chappie Visa saga finally comes to a conclusion; Team Empire will now have to play the entire event without their carry player.

Chappie Out, Resolut1on In

TI7 would’ve been Vladimir ‘Chappie’ Kuzmenko’s first ever TI, which is a big achievement when you consider that he is barely two years into his pro career.

Luckily for Team Empire, one of their former players was ready to stand in.

Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok spent more than two years with Team Empire from 2013 to 2015 and is arguably their most successful player to date.

Team Empire went on to finish many LAN tournaments in 1st place and even received a direct invite to TI5 during his time with the CIS organisation. Although, things did not go very well for them at TI5 as they ended up finishing in 9th-12th place.

Resolut1on was also part of the Digital Chaos team that finished in 2nd place at last year’s TI6.

There’s no doubt that Resolut1on is a very capable player, but it remains unfortunate that the whole Chappie visa fiasco will force Team Empire to play the entire tournament without their carry player.

Not only does Resolut1on have little to no experience playing with his current teammates, his play style and niche picks are also very different to that of Chappie’s.

Team Empire are currently 1-1 after splitting their series earlier against Team Secret. So far, so good, as it seems.

They are set to play again later today against LGD Gaming and Infamous.
